My body needed something else besides treadmills and classes, which is why I decided to train with Mike who was referred to me in 2005.  At that time, Mike developed a weight training and nutrition program for me.  He taught me how to eat six small meals per day and suggested some dietary supplements called "Perfect Food Super Greens".  In 2006 I was told I needed a total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis, at that time, Mike changed my weight training program and got my upper body stronger so that I could hold my body weight up using my walker.  After the surgery, I went to physical therapy for three months, and after with my doctor's permission began to train with Mike.  My knee at this time was only bending at a 40 degree angle.  With Mike's knowledge, training, determination, and hard work, my knee now bends close to 100 degrees.  I am now boxing with Mike and walk 3 miles per day.  

 

Mike has taught me, variety in exercise and food is very important.  Weight bearing exercises are very important, especially because I have osteoarthritis, which I am not worried about because Mike will show me what to do.  Mike also told me to "keep my body moving and to try and keep my body as alkaline as possible using the "Perfect Food".  In January I will turn 73 and this is what I intend to do.  Thank you Mike for your support and friendship.

I have worked individually with Mike Manzo as a personal trainer for about four years. I began seeing him about once every two months, then changed to twice a week about two years ago.

-he listens to my desires/expectations, and tailors his guidance to meet my needs

After years of working out on a daily basis with weight and cardio exercises with some intermittent instruction along the way, I felt that I had come to a plateau in both my muscular definition and strength building.  A friend suggested that I try working with Mike Manzo to break the stalemate and spark some forward progress.

 

After having worked with Mike for a relatively short time, I am very pleased with the changes I am seeing.  With his extensive knowledge and experience in working with all aspects of the skeletal, muscular systems and their elements of connectivity in combination with his ability to isolate particular muscle groupings, I have gained a great deal of momentum in my workout sessions.  I also appreciate the way he stresses the issue of maintaining and working on good flexibility and stretching, which has very much improved many of my back and leg strain issues along with my general overall flexibility.
